The worst thing that you could find out is that a crime has occurred, only to discover that the DVR stopped recording a week ago because a power chord got unplugged or a hard drive failed. DVR users want to have peace of mind that they can leave their DVR unattended for months or years and still be confident that it has continued to record video without any problems. Until now, this was not possible.
With the free Tempest health service, DVR users and installers can be alerted exactly when their DVR might need servicing. The health server stays in contact with your DVR over the network and knows exactly when something has gone wrong. It can be configured to send you e-mail warnings if your DVR stops working, loses power, loses network connectivity, fails to record, loses a camera signal, reboots unnaturally, has a fan malfunction, or has a hard drive error, failure, or temperature problem. This wealth of features will help keep you alert when something might be wrong so that you can make sure your security system is always operating smoothly.
